Tasks Pro™ : Requirements
Server/Web Environment Requirements
Tasks Pro™ is web-based software that must be installed into a web server environment. However, this doesn’t mean that Tasks Pro™ can only be installed onto a web server. Most modern computers are very capable of running a web server and a database. Tasks Pro™ can be installed onto any computer that has:
- A web server (usually Apache or IIS) compatible with PHP.
- The PHP engine (version 4.1 or later, including PHP 5) installed and configured with the web server.
- Access to a MySQL database (version 4.x or later, normally installed locally).
All of these are available for Windows, Mac OS X and Unix/Linux systems - most even have friendly installers.
Run the Server Check script to see if your system is ready for Tasks Pro™. If the server check fails, you may want to look into a Use Tasks account or sign up with one of our recommended hosts.
Browser Requirements
Tasks Pro™ requires a modern browser with JavaScript enabled. It has been tested successfully in the following browsers:
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.x (Windows)
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x (Windows)
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 (Windows)
- Firefox (Windows, Mac OS X, Unix/Linux)
- Mozilla 1.2+ (Windows, Mac OS X, Unix/Linux)
- Netscape 7.x (Windows, Mac OS X, Unix/Linux)
- Camino (Mac OS X)
- Safari (Mac OS X)
- Opera (Windows, Mac OS X, Unix/Linux)*
* Certain versions of Opera have shown problems with various Tasks features.
