Yes, that's still something I need to do.

Development on a product is very different than development + packaging + testing + documentation + release and associated support that goes into a release. Development is happening, but releases are further down the road.

It has been over a year since the last point release of Tasks and 18 months since the .7 versions.  When this post was made it seemed you might comment on the future direction of Tasks as it relates to Crowd Favorite.  Can we still expect a comment or is the development of Tasks just dead for now while Crowd Favorite focuses on the custom Wordpress development.

I looked at tons of project management apps before buying Tasks Pro and the only thing I liked in any of them better was some of the user interface stuff. 5pm probably had the nicest of the interfaces, though its price and general features fell short.

I saw in the iPhone thread that you've got facelifts in mind for the whole product line, but here's a couple specific things I'd like to see:

Right-click / hover context menus - I think this would really clean up the UI and make it clear where you're adding a sub-note etc.

Drag and drop task reordering and moving

Toggle left menu visibility

Simplified interface option -
My main use for TP is collaborating with clients, and the cleaner and simpler I can make their interface the better. Some clients are very non-tech and/or have small projects. If I had a way to turn off a lot of the buttons, menu items, and features for them then I'd feel a lot better about getting them to use TP instead of emailing me everything. This is the number one thing that made me consider writing my own app instead of buying TP.

I think I could add most of these features with jQuery with a little effort, but if it's coming in a future release then I'd rather not start messing with the code.

All in all though a really great product!

We would like to be able to estimate the time (in days or hours)  a task could take to be completed.

Also, it would be nice if a parent could sum time estimate for all it subtasks.

Have you changed your MySQL packet size limits to match the new PHP settings?

It sounds like it's working on the PHP side, but not on the MySQL side.

I was receiving the error message on file size too big, so I changed php.in to the following:

memory_limit 20M
upload_max_filesize 20M
max_execution_time 480

Restarted the server.

TasksPro max file size is set to 20971520

Now, I'm not getting the file size error anymore, but...

I'm trying to upload a 9.05MB file, and sometimes it given an error that "filename.doc was not successfully added".  Sometimes this error does not come up.

However, when I go back to the task, the file IS listed there and it says is 9.05MB.  When I download it and try to open it, it's a 1 page blank word doc.

I have successfully uploaded smaller files.

Any help appreciated.

okay well without being able to log in/use the script where in the files would i find the key?

if you'd rather move this to private email that is fine with me, i can send you an email with any information i can obtain through the script itself and if we can't go with that then i can send an order over to our vp for approval.

If the license is for your company (purchased by your company) then you can download a free upgrade (I can help you update the e-mail address on file). If your company does not have a license, then yes - you'd need to purchase one.

how would i go about that?

what is the cost to upgrade the version he has and would that be acceptable? seeing as how he was the person who purchased the script in the first place, could i upgrade his version or should i just purchase the newest version myself?

I would recommend upgrading to version 1.7.1, it sounds like your IT employee may have been making some customizations on his/her own to the source code.

it's a copy i found on an old IT employees share, while cleaning out his area.
i've been really interested in finding a good task management software and was going to give this a shot. is this an outdated version? i haven't looked much into it except this specific error.

i've read completely this forum and all errors similar to mine but found no answers.
my databases are set up properly, short tags are on, htaccess is set properly...

yet i still get this blank page after login

when i turn error reporting on i get this:

Catchable fatal error: Object of class task could not be converted to string in /home/*******/public_html/task/engine.inc.php on line 3981

any help is greatly appreciated

I don't think there is right now. Perhaps you could use recurring tasks instead?
